It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that Sallie passed away on 26th November 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer.
During her treatment she never gave up her zest for life, or love of literature, and continued to write and perform her poetry whenever possible. I was never in Monterey is one such poem and you can watch Sallie reading it below. You can also listen to her reading several others here – she would have been pleased to know that her work continues to be enjoyed.
She is sorely missed, and always will be, by her family and friends alike.

New year, new beginnings...

As a subscriber and regular contributor to Indigo Dreams’ popular and enduring magazines I was honoured to be voted Poet of the Year 2023 in Reach and to be offered a guest spotlight in the Spring 2024 edition of The Dawntreader in which four new poems will appear: What the doctor said; Go tell it to the Blubells; Amsterdam and The Green Dragon. Magazines and a fabulous selection of books can be purchased from www.indigodreamspublishing.com

Musical collaboration
String virtuoso and composer Richard Durrant asked me to write some wintry lyrics for his candlelit Christmas concerts 2023. I'd already written a poem called 'Stopping by Woods' (adapted from Robert Frost) which he then segued into another poem of mine called 'The Shortest Day' to create a beautiful, haunting song, which is constantly evolving. It was a joy to work with Richard.

Poetry Reading
In November 2023, I was delighted to be invited to join some talented poets at Flight Of The Dragonfly's Spoken Word evening at The Walrus, Brighton. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to read a selection of my poems out loud to such a discerning audience.

Here's my live reading of I Was Never in Monterey, which was first published by Indigo Dreams in Reach magazine, October 2023.
